1. ) Look at the bottom of the page you didn't state which model when I stated that and I did not say all models.

http://www.jayco.com/html/catalog/floorplans.php?prod_id=35o

2.) Apples to Apples

Nissan LE 4x4 Crew Cab with Big Tow and Off Road =$36,500

Dodge 2500 4x4 Laramie Crew Cab with the Cummings and add ons to match the Titan LE = $41,090

3.) Look on www.nissanmotors.com and it does not list Big Tow with the XE

4.) Can't believe someone would be willing to lose thousands of dollars and trade in a brand new truck for something thats inferior. You have more money then you know what to do with or something? Why do you belong to this forum if you are trading in your Titan?

The wife & I recently purchased a SeaDoo Speedster 160 and it's weight is listed as around 1800 pounds dry.  Add in the trailer, 40 gallons of fuel (ouch @ today's prices), gear, beer, and other stuff and I'm thinking I'm probably towing somewhere around 2800 pounds.  I know, I know....no where near the Titan's limits.  Anywho...

We've towed this load for approximately 1200 miles now and everytime it's been a treat.  Over the years I've towed everything from horse trailers to boat trailers and nothing I've used compares to the overall experience with my Titan.  Now...I'll admit that this is my first full size truck, however every other tow vehicle I've owned has towed well within it's limits.  What I'm getting to here is that in each of my previous vehicle's capabilities, they didn't deliver the same overall satisfaction.  My Titan not only hardly knows there is almost 3000 pounds behind it, but it delivers a comfortable, in control, ride.  I've owned vehicles that even though the towed load was well below it's limits, you still knew something was back there.  Hell - in some cases it was like the tail wagging the dog....LITERALLY!

What's funny is when I'm at a stop light and someone pulls from behind me into the vacant lane thinking I'm gonna be slow off the line and hold up traffic.  Then when the light turns green, I pull away like normal and keep up with them.  And if I'm feeling frisky, I romp the throttle and walk away from them!!

Like I said, my load isn't near the limit, but I'm still impressed.  I will say that you guys have gotten me a bit paranoid though.  There are times when I swear I can hear some gear whine slowing down or while going 25 to 30 mph.

Tom

Hmmm.. I have heard tell that some of these guys are coming from the factory with little or no fluid in the rear end.  I am getting mine looked at today big trip towing about 6000 lbs about 800 miles.  If that was the problem it would have definitely caused your issue.

I am very pleased with  mine so far.  Though its already been broken into once and body work was needed.

Guys and Gals: Let's appreciate everyone's differences. I just traded a 2004 Ford F250 with a scremin 6.0L Powerstyroke for this Titan. I can assure you that the Ford would pull 4 of these Titans hooked together. Chipped, my Ford was producing 500 horsepower and 800 ft/lb torque, all at 2800rpm, how is that for power. Now, the heaviest object that I tow is a 1500 pound aluminum boat, what was I thinking???? Afrter the brain fart cleared, I traded my 25th NEW Ford I have owned for my 2nd Nissan. I bought my wife a 2003 Altima with a 3.5, after a PCM change, exhaust change, intake change, the car makes close to 290 horsepower, another screamer. I was so impressed with her car, I looked at the Titan, glad I did. I got this truck yesterday, I returned from Orlando Thursday. My F250, set on cruise at 78mph, averaged 19 mpg. Something I do not expect of this Titan, if so, it will be the first and only Titan to do so. I am willing to sacrifice a bit of mileage and power for the comfort, maneuvarability, much cheaper servicing, of the Titan. On a good note for the Dodge with the Cummins engine. Since Ford owns Cummins, look for the 2007 Heavy Duty line of Ford trucks to have the Cummins diesel engine,,,exclusively to Ford. This means that Ford will no longer sell it's Cummin engines to Dodge. Ford has realized that the 6.0 Navistar engine is a total failure and will abandon that program for the 2007 HD line...Are you beginning to understand why the Ford is gone and the Titan now lives here?????

i would always keep it out of overdrive when towing heavy. too much heat build up. sacrifice the fuel mileage for a long lived transmission. also, change transmission fluid once a year.

I agree, I'd tow in fourth.  Especially if the transmissions keeps shifting to a lower gear all the time going up hills, etc.  Better to just leave it in the lower gear.

Ran the first trip to CO this past weekend.

Towing the race car and trailer is about 2500-2700lbs.

No real issues at all. Ran in 5th on the flat, 4th on the small hills, and 3rd at 4200rpm and 70mph while passing the Dodge up the steeper hills.....

All in all, a bit busy in the shifting department, but I'll get used to it. Much easier to drop to 3rd on the steep hills than do cruise. It keeps going in and out and in and out- that sucks. Just dump it to third and hold it manually at 4k or so and its much better.
