I'd like my dealer to extend mine too, what ammo can you give me, I've had mine in twice now....new breaks, waiting to get my seat belts fixed, and the rollers fixed on the front windows that have ruined my custom tint.

I called my dealer a couple of days ago about three lights that were staying on in my truck; the "brake", "VDC OFF" and "SLIP" lights had come on and stayed on. He told me to top off my brake fluid. So I mentioned that if the brake fluid was low, my pads must be getting low so I'd get some pads, replace them, and have my rotors turned. I also mentioned that I'd heard of a TSB for the brakes. He asked me if I was experiencing brake judder. I said I felt a little bit, but nothing that really concerned me. I said when I replace the pads and turn the rotors it'll go away. He said why spend the money, just bring it in and we'll take care of it. So I made an appointment for the 21st. I mentioned the window switches and he said they'll take care of them also.

They are only going to turn my rotors and replace the pads and some hardware as, according to him, they won't have the permanent fix until June. But I've got 25000 miles on the truck and my "judder" is barely noticable so I think I can get by with the temporary solution for now.

sure they replace them, but unless they are the better ones, you'll be in again like the rest of us. And every time it's in, means I don't have it that day, so they haul me back to work and pick me up.  So they have taken care of me, I'd just like them done RIGHT so I don't have to keep going back in every 3000 miles!  What a PITA

This question is for wstrndeer.

When you mention your tint being ruined...do you have lines from top to bottom? Both sides of my husbands truck in the front are ruined also. Is that something I can take it to the dealer for?

Hi all.  Got the same problems as you folks.  2004 Titan with ~7500 miles.  Steering wheel and front end shakes when hitting the brakes.  Just off the phone with my dealership service manager.  Told him what I read here in this forum.  He said "Yep, Nissan knows all about it."  There is a TSB on it and they have the dealerships resurfacing or replacing the rotors, replacing the pads, and changing out the bolts that hold on the calipers.  That is just the temporary fix.  He also stated that a permanent fix TSB just came out a couple of weeks ago that replaces all the brake hardware (calipers, rotors, pads, etc.).  He stated his dealership has this new hardware on order, but it will be a least a few months before it comes in.  So for now, hang in there, they will replace whatever you need until the newly designed stuff comes in.  He also did mention extending the warranty or brake parts, but he said 36,000 miles.  Which doesn't really make sense to me since this is the same as the basic warranty.  Anybody received anything in writing from Nissan in regards to extending the front brake warranty to 100,000 miles?

on your windows, my dealership wont honor the after market window tint and re-do it for me.  Yes the marks are from top to bottom both front side windows. They are however fixing the problem that caused the markings on it, rollers inside window that make it go up and down are too tight, causing scratches.  Now I am stuck with the fact, if I remove the tint  to see if rollers have scratched my windows or just the int. I have to have them tinted again and they wont cover removal or tint.  If I don't remove the tint to see if windows are scratched, and later find out they are scratched they wont replace them later.

Got my Titan worked on yesterday (4/19/2005).  My dealership resurfaced the front rotors and put on new front bake pads.  I looked at the rotors after the work was completed.  It looked like they only had to take a tiny amount of metal off.  The truck is braking fine.  No vibration whatsoever.  We'll see how long it lasts.

Took truck in for "brake jutter" and window switches this morning. They turned the rotors installed new pads and the hardware kit. They replaced the driver's side and passenger's side switches and when he asked if I had any other concers I told him I recently lost my AM reception. He said he'd order a new stereo and call me when it was in. I picked up the truck this evening and drove it home (45 miles) the brakes feel fine and the switches work. The brakes weren't too bad to begin with but there's a noticable difference, hopefully I can go another 25K miles before I need brake service.
