Ok, Friday I finally got to take my truck in for my problems and this is how it went:

1) Power steering fluid leak.... FIXED they had to replace the hose and clamp that distributes the power steering fluid

2) Brakes....  FIXED but not really, they did the TSB that they resurfaced the roters and replaced the pads, however 2 days after this is done, the judder is very faint but coming back

3) The white spots on the Bed liner....  NO CLUE my dealer took pictures and are sending them to Nissan corporate.  The service manager said that they will probably tell them to dye it black.  I told them no way that is going to happen.

4) Gas Gauge....  NO CLUE they said that they see the problem that it isn't reading correctly and they have no idea what it is.  They thought it was the sending unit but said that it is reading correctly.  They are also going to contact Nissan about this problem

5) Tick rattle behind dash.   They told me this is normal, it is from a Heat Pump???  that sits on the firewall that puts coolant throughout the truck.  No I don't know whether to believe them or not..

So out of the 5 things, 2 were fixed, one is already failing, 1 is normal and 2 Nissan needs to get involved.

I also go a call back from Nissan Consumer Affairs about my complaint, however I wasn't at work to get the call cause I had to take a vacation day at work to have my truck worked on since they wouldn't offer me a loaner and I don't have a second vehicle.

I hate my truck more and more everyday....

By the way it now only has 2700 miles on it, I have owned it for 2 months and has been in the shop twice so far...

Mark

The brake shudder is, I believe, going to keep coming back till NIssan puts in larger brakes.

I don't have a bedliner, but I understand that to be problem every so often.

The noise from the dash - I have not had that problem and it being normal?  I don't think so.

What was the Nissan consumer number you called?  I'd like to have it for reference as well.  Thanks!

The number to Nissan Consumer Dispairs... Uh, I mean affairs is 1-800- nissan1. Good luck ,this is just the beginning of the nightmare. Expect the same cookie cutter response from any of the robots you acutally get in touch with. They S*#*k!! I am on day 11 of the BBB claim and still no word from ANYBODY at Nissan. I called today and stayed on hold for 20 minutes just to find out that my case was still listed as "pending". Man, where does it end???!!!

Yes the number is 1-800-NISSAN-1.... I opened a complaint with them last week to make them aware of all the problems I am having... However I was suprised to see a different rep from Nissan Consumer Affairs left me a voice mail on friday, too bad I had to take a vacation day to leave my truck.  She is to call me back today at work so hopefully it is something good.  All I really want is for the them to replace my truck with another Nissan, No way will I get another Titan since I am seeing these same problems with the 05's from other people on the other titan boards.

I will keep you all posted on my progress, also Scooter good luck and let us know what your results are as well.

Thanks, serch. From my exp. if you mention replacement or buy-back the Consumer Affairs rep will automatically go into the "Please reffer to your supplimentary owners manual, mode" If you haven't read it, it basically gives you specific instructions on how to bring leagal action against them. Sorry for the bad news but I wanted you to be prepared. Good luck, I'll keep you posted on my outcome with the BBB Auto Line.

Yeah I am aware of that and I have read it... In PA I have to let the problem happen 3 times.  However I spoke to a lawyer and he stated that with the amount of problems I have had already in under 3000 miles that I might have a case...  I really do love the truck, If I didn't I wouldn't have bought it.  However it has been such a inconvienence for me with having to use up my vacation days so that my new vehichle can be worked on.   My only regret is not staying loyal to Toyota and buying a Tundra.   This is the first non toyota vehicle I have bought and with the way things are going, it might be my last....

Scooter, if you don't mind me asking, what problem did/are you having with your Titan?

Mark

Last year I went thru all the pains of having a lemon with chevrolet truck. Being in the maintenance buiseness, I do understand that problems will happen. But there is no excuse for any bad treatment from a dealer or factory rep. This is why I had to go through a lawyer and the lemon law. I understand if you need to get the truck bought back.

On the other hand the 2004 trucks are the first year of production. They will have things to work out. On some of the problems, they might should have looked harder before aproving the truck for production. Overall I feel that this truck is one heck of a truck and has many great features. I love it and will stick with it as long as Nissan treats me like a real person and not like a liability. If that happens then its ON again.

Well I finally got a call back from NCA.  They were following up with my complaint to see if they were resolved Friday, which like I told her some were done some weren't.  She did tell me that they have another fix for the brakes coming out, however she said it isn't a permanent fix and that it was something better then what is in place currently.  I guess time will tell.   She also told me the that bed liner turning white is known and since it is new they are going to be addressing it, but it could take quite some time for them to get that resolved.  I also expressed my dissappointment of my dealer not offering a loaner car which caused me to use a vacation day.  She said that they should have got me a car and that she will discuss that with them.    The rep was also shocked when I told her my current mileage on my truck is less then 2700 miles.   I asked about replacing the vehicle with another non Titan and she said she would speak with my dealer about that as well.  I am suppossed to get another call back today.
