I just got back from Nissan.  First the tech. said he could not hear the problem, but after I asked he admitted he did not drive it, just sat there and could not hear the problem.  Thanks to the post of the TSB on this forum, we went for a ride, quickly heard the problem and they have ordered me new radio, just like everyone told me they would.  Overall a good experience today.
Good Luck everyone, keep spanking those HEMI's !!!!

I did a google search for the Titan forums the other day and saw this issue addressed.  There was a link to a Nissan page showing that it had generated a service bulletin.  Your dealer should be able to fix these issues now.   My Titan was mgf  04/04 and as of yet, I haven't encountered this problem, although I do notice that the CD seems to have much stonger output than the radio section.

Does this fix apply to the Rockford Fosgate systems also?  My radio reception is also extremely poor!

I asked my dealer about the Rockford system. They said that system was not the same and does not qualify for replacement.  I had my radio changed Monday and it works much better than the original.  The reception still is not fantastic, but at least it does not fade to a different level every 1/8 mile.  I added a 10" sub, 6 Infinity Kappa speakers, and two amps ( 4 ch, 2 ch).  Sounds great now.
I don't know that I trust my dealer for the quote on the Rockford system though.  They severly scratched my radio display, A/C controls, and center console when replacing my radio.  The airbag light has also been flashing ever since.  They looked at the damage immediatley, after I pointed out the obvious, and ordered all new pieces.  NOT a great experience at this dealer, time to go a bit farther down the road to the newer dealer.  Good luck all.

My understanding is the Rockford Fosgate stereo is no different than the non-RF stereo; only the speakers, amplifier and sub make the difference.  Also, my friend and I both have the RF system in our SE Titans and we both have the same "fade" problem.  My friend brought his to the dealer and they already ordered him a new radio stating that it is part of the service bulletin.  In reading the bulleting, it states it applies to all Titans with 6-disc in-dash CD players manufactured before June 7, 2004.  I'm taking mine in tomorrow, but to a different dealership than where my friend went.  We'll see what happens, but it seems the dealership has no argument not to order me a new deck.

i don't know if mine is good or not!!  it is pre-june, so it qualifies for the TSB, but...
i have the RF.  it sounds like crap in my opinion, but i don't think i've heard this fade problem.  mine mostly sounds weak.  the cd's sound much much better.  so, i don't know whether to ask for it to be replaced or not.  can anyone be more specific on the fade?  what fades?

It's quite noticable. For me it's most common when coasting from 50mph to 40 mph. Weather or not the SSV is enabled, you get a difference in tone. The TSB decribes it as a change from stereo to mono. I' say that's the best description of what I hear.
I do agree with everyone else... the output on the CD is greater than the radio. I'll be asking for my replacement on the next service, which should be in a month or so.
