if anyone is intrested in a magnaflow dual cat-back system i found a good price. the price listed on this website http://www.justmagnaflow.com/Kits/NissanTitan.htm is 499.84 . but when i called them to ask a question they said that they were having a phone in special for the system at 432.98 total price. not bad i think for a stainless steel mandrel bent system. im not sure how long his "phone in special will last" but you can call to find out. the number is on the website above.

I'd really think about going to a custom exhaust shop first, you could save almost half on the price. I have Magnaflow, one in two out, run it out the back with chrome tips and paid $225. All that extra money is being thrown away on pre-bent pipes, when you should get a much cheaper price on the same caliber steel. I would at least check prices first (at local exhaust/mufflar shops) before paying too much on an exhaust with everything.

thats true and a good idea, but you have to watch out for certian muffler shops that like to overprice every single part. for instance i went to midas and told them i was thinking about getting a cat-back system for 500. well they told me after shipping and handling and getting someone to put it in that it would cost well over 600, but that they could put in a custom one with the same parts minus the mandrel bents for about 550. me being new to this stuff thought it was a good idea to save money, plus they said the loss in hp due to the non mandrel bents was very small. so i said ill do it tommorrow. well when i got home and did a bit more research here on this site i realized that they had to be really overpricing their stuff. so obviously i decided not to use them at all.
they also told me that cost to install a bolt on system was like 120. to me thats to much especially since the magnaflow kit doesnt show any welds needed
anyway how do you like your magnaflow pied_piper? sound good? feel any hp gain?

I really love the sound of my Magnaflow, sounds more high performace as opposed to loud like Flowmaster. I can feel that there is a few more horses pulling the wagon, but couldn't tell you how much.
True, some mufflar shops will rape you just as easily as any auto parts place. Ask around, friends, relatives, whoever. That's how I found out, after calling about half a dozen shops around town, the closest one to price was still $125 higher than what I paid. The shop I used was out of town, and came highly recommended. Plus, my Titan was the first he worked on, and said he had no problems what so ever. In fact, he thought I should of left my truck there so he could test drive it, for about a week! So that made me feel good. And I would be weary of using big name chains unless they are running a special. Good luck in shopping for your exhaust.

thanks pied_piper , i just installed the magnaflow dual cat back system in my truck, just me and my brother. It took forever because we kept running into problems, and i even had to take down the trailer hitch, which doesnt bother me to much because i havent used it yet. anyway after spending way to much time on it (i should have just payed someone to do it) it sounds and looks great. not to loud but you know its there. and i love the way it sounds on start up. all in all i cant be happier

Congrats on the new exhuast. Yeah, I'm lazy when it comes to those sort of installs, so paying someone makes since. But putting it on yourself kind puts a little more pride in it. What's also great about this exhaust (and others) is that when your other friends that drive domestic trucks, you start yours up, and they realize that hey, that doesn't sound like a Nissan, but like a bad ass truck. And they're right.

Almost all muffler shops have a crush type tube bender, a mandrel bends will out perform a crushed bend by over 30%. Unless you have a shop that has a mandrel bender, a custom exhaust is a waste.
Looks like the MagnaFlow is behind the Y back, the Banks includes the Y. The stock Y is the smallest of the replaceable exhuast componets.

It's a mandrel bend, I assure you. Like I said before, he came highly recommended, and he has been doing the business for 20 years. I guess I'm lucky not to live in a bigger city where you pay the city prices.
