thanks for the comeback. Who did you talk to at Nissan? I tried Nissan consumer affairs the young lady I talked to denied my request. Said Nissan would not cover cost of changing the cover ,but would replace differential should it fail.

The service writer HAS to be creative when submitting the claim. My RO stated:

Customer Complaint: Customer notices oil spot under truck after long trip.

Tech Findings: Rear Diff. cover warped due to excessive heat

Repair: Install new rear cover. Orig steel not avail from Nissan anymore (see Service File)

Now this was on the 3rd complaint., When I first found out about the cover, I went to dealer and complained about a leak. The first 2 RO's state that problem could not be duplicated but seapage prom rear is noted.

You HAVE to first make sure that it is a prior and ongoing problem with your truck.
