Sorry but power at a lower speed has NOTHING to do with the ECU limiting speed. I have seen a dyno in 4th that abruptly stopped at 115. You could fool it with larger tires (taller) but the fun is stopped at 115 MPH on our trucks, You may think your going faster and the speedo may be off a few mph but when the ECU reads 115 thats when the fun stops. I believe this is because our tires are S rated...114mph max sustained speed. I'm not sure but isn't 4th closer to a 1:1 than 3rd? I remember a few guys on TitanTalk saying 4th would be the betterl gear if not for the 115mph limiter.

The ECU does not read the speedo and the ECU does not have any type speedometer inside it. It uses engine RPM relative to gear selection. They would have to dyno in 3rd because you could never hit max rpm in 4th or 5th.
I ... 3.83 ... 7.1 ... 43 mph (6100 rpm) II ... 2.37 ... 11.4 ... 70 mph (6100 rpm) III ... 1.52 ... 17.8 ... 109 mph (6100 rpm) IV ... 1.00 ... 27.0 ... 114 mph (4200 rpm) V ... 0.83 ... 32.4 ... 114 mph (3500 rpm)
Im interested in what the GPS says.

Yeah....what I said. 4th is the 1:1 gear but You can't
dyno in it. So you agree 125mph sounds a little questionable???

I dunno, each computer and engine are slightly different but 11mph over the limited speed is questionable. Nothing flashing the ECU can't fix.

I wish someone would come out with a flash, something is hard
about getting the new Nissan Ecu codes. One company came out
finally with one for the new Maximas but it seems only a few that
were done actually made any power. We can hope though.
I would love an extra 10 HP accross the board on top of my banks and volant.....(both ordered!)

Not many folks seem to worry about the speed rating of the tires. Why is that or are many people not aware what the rating is?

The rating is faifly loose and a short run over the rated speed should
not prove fatal.(although not very smart) I think the
speed rating is more of a sustained rating of like 20 minutes......It
doesn't really matter as a pickup isn't safe over 100
anyway...its not a sports car with a high speed suspension or brakes to
match. I wouldn't want to see/feel what a drift at 100 would be
like. Probably end up upside down with the wheel in the
air!

Yeah after the rolling stopped you might be tires to the sky but I hope no one will experience this.

i agree about the speedo being off, she was in a volvo S60 2.5T and was infront of me claiming she had her cruise set at 72mph and she kept pulling away, not untill i went 85mph (so the speedo read) i was able to keep up with her.... so the speedo could very well be off but im not sure.... how can you tell? because all of them are calibrated so differently

Use a handheld gps. My GPS shows 61.5mph when I have the cruise
set exactly at 60 on my speedo. That seems to be common on Titans.
