I was reading the specs of the titan at nissanusa.com and I was wondering why the towing capacity of the XE lower than the LE. What is the difference that makes the LE tow more than the XE? What does the "big tow package" add to the truck? If anyone knows, please help. I'm puzzled. THanks.

Alot more $ and some chrome...
Everyone knows chrome adds horsepower... and more hosrepower = more towing capacity..

Total gross is the same, if you put on a larger cab and or deck it out with a bunch of garb then the towing cap goes down.

From my understanding, the big tow package adds the following items.
1. A strong tow hitch package than what you can get from the Nissan Dealership
2. A transmission cooler and heavy duty radiator.
Both those items sold me on it. I don't do any towing but I have a car carrier that gets some use. Rather than buy a dually...

Big tow also gives you VDC which may or may no be somehting you want in a truck. You get a bigger battery as well.

Big tow/Off Road package gives you a different final drive gear ratio.

It also adds the towing mirrors, the ones with the separate blind spot mirror that I REALLY wish I had...

All I want out of the tow package is the rear gear...2.93s are not getting it done.
