From what i understand, the tow package does NOT have a tranny cooler, but it does have a tranny temp gage...which doesn't make much sense to me.  It also gets you the hitch, different gear ratio, trailer brake pre-wiring, big mirrors, and a heavy duty battery....all for only $400.  what a deal.

On the owner's manual it says that the XE without tow package can tow 6500 and the SE without the tow package can tow 7400.  What's the difference if they both have the 2.94 gears.  You can only get the 3.35 gears with the big tow package.  Does anyone know why the XE tows less?

Possible misprint? What would make the XE,SE or LE different in the tow department. They are all Titans and have the same underpinnings. Seems really odd

Weight could be an issue. If the SE is lighter then it should be able to tow more i think.. Dunno just a shot in the dark

The reason is if the truck does not have the BTP, the mfg assumes that you will be mounting the ball to the bumber. The bumber does not have the same towing Capacity as a reciever hitch and ball mount....by putting a reciever hitch with the class rating that you need you can safely haul that weight.
