Although all the other problems with the truck were fixed,   even the stock (wimpy) brakes were backordered, so I got the truck back in exactly the same condition that I dropped it off in.    So now I have to go in AGAIN to get a substandard fix.   Service told me that the only recomendation from Nissan at this time is to turn the rotors and put in new pads/shim kit.    When that is done, we're going to have some fun with their lame attempt at a fix (we'll see how fast brakes can be beat up)....   Next visit after that would be to get the upgraded (ie, bigger redesigned brakes).      As many have said, it would be really nice if they would fix it right the first time and not waste everyones time.     Overall I love the truck even given the brake problem, things happen and I can live it that.    Nissan however will likely not see me purchase a second vehicle from them due to their lack of customer service with this specific matter.   Dealer is great, not blaming them, I'm blaming Corporate Nissan for not giving the dealers what they need to do the right thing and not admitting the problem.

I noticed I don't have much brake dust with the new rotors like I did with the other ones.  my wheels still look chrome after about a hundred miles.

I am on my 2nd set of brakes/rotors and I scheduled to go in tomorrow morning for the 3rd set.

My dealer has been luke warm at best when it comes to replacing the brakes and making things right. You'd think Nissan would be bending over backwards to keep new Nissan customers happy.

I will be calling corporate in the morning.  This will most likely be my last Nissan.

When is this thing considered a lemon?

No new vehicle should shimmy, shake, squeak, and rattle like this thing does.

Very irritated!

I also have the fix on mine but only about 2K miles on them.  But so far it feels good and no problems.  Same feelings with me.  We were planning to buy a Maxima for my wife later this year, but probably not now....

Same Here:  I think Nissan has much to offer in their vehicles line-up, but that will no make change my decision to not buy another Nissan.  My wife felt in love with the new Xterra, but after a little reminder of how Nissan is working my case, she changes her mind.  I live in Puerto Rico and I’m in a list of like 30 people waiting for the new brakes.  Another things is that cars are one of my hobbies, so every time one of my friends (or people that know me) want to buy a car they come to me to ask if the model they like is a good choice, so don’t expect to never recommend one Nissan car.   Nissan: this is my vengeance for the way your treat a client, hope you go bankrupt.

I agree. My attorney has won seven buybacks and I hope to be number 8. Shame on Nissan for treating us this way. I spent a lot of money for this truck and the last thing I need to worry about is the rotors, etc. I will probably never buy another Nissan again.

Oh I'm not going to buy another Nissan What a bunch of cry babies!  Go home and cry to your mama and get off this forum.  Go buy a ford or chevy so they can hear you cry.  Better yet go buy a Hemi, what in the hell is a Hemi anyway.

I would recommend a Toyota.  I was stupid enough to give up a Toyota.  It had 100K miles and I never had to the shop for anything but regular maintenance.
