apparently born2surf isn't well informed on how this problem happens.  ALL Titans made so far WILL HAVE this brake problem.  Mine didn't start until around 14,000 because I am always on the highway (I've had it since 3-12-05)  The rotors are undersized!  The dealer where I take mine told me..... no Nissan dealer in the USA will replace the rotors on the first shot.  They won't because it is part of their study.  (to see how long the fix they put to it will last)  also, they don't always just turn the rotors.  They are experimenting with several different styles of rotor.  Also, there is no false advertising here, vented rotors doesn't mean they have holes.  That is cross drilled, not vented.  Vented rotors means......there are 2 layers of metal, and air and fins between.....

After experiencing the brake shimmy for the first time, I called my
"contact" who arranged it so I got the improved rotors and improved
pads the first time around.

Normally, you will need to put your name on a waiting list and/or have
the earlier fixes done 3(?) times before they'll let you have the "final"
fix.

I've noticed some other Titan owners have replied saying they have
received a "fix," but they did not specify if they received improved rotors
and improved pads.

As stated somewhere else I believe, Nissan is just buying some time
waiting for its supplier(s) to meet demand.

The Rotors are NOT the problem. The problem is the brake pads. The pads are too hard and generate too much heat.Nissan has countermeasure pads for front and rear.Have your dealer install the new pads and surface the front and rear rotors and you won't have any more problems.

bull would you spend the money they did for just brake pads.  It is the whole set up they rushed this part of the truck and thought they could get away with it.  Think about it a company that never made a full size truck isn't gonna hit the nail on the head first time out.

I don't know where you got that information.  The rotors ARE the problem.  If not, why is the 'FIX' a new improved type of rotor????  The other rotors weren't handling the heat and warping.  They put the new improved rotors on mine 2 - 3K miles ago and so far no problems.

Then, this morning my window wouldn't go back up.  So, I guess I will be visiting my Nissan dealer once again now to get a new power window motor.  This is a freaking' joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay folks alot on here still have brake issues.   I started to experience the "warped rotor" feeling at about 4,000 miles.  At this point I contacted Carbotech Engineering to work with them to get a better pad made for our trucks.  The information can be found at NissanPerformanceMag.com

That article was written a few weeks after I installed the pads so at about 4-5000 miles.  I presently have 14,000 miles on the truck so about 10,000 miles with the Carbotech pads.  The only thing that was done was minimally resurface the stock rotors (a few thousandths) to remove the stock pad material from the rotor and install the pads.

I have had *NO* brake issues since installing the carbotech pads.  And the truck stops better then most cars.  Alot of people have ridden in the truck and are impressed how well the truck stops.

Point of the story if you want your truck fixed now call up Mossy order the pads and get it fixed.  If you want to whine about Nissan not fixing your truck don't.  It serves no purpose.

As for the rotors being too small bullsh*t!  I have the stock rotors with 10,000 miles using more agressive ceramic pads.  Towed a 24' enclosed trailer w/ out the brake controller turned on a few times.  Done numerous 60-0 tests with back to back runs with *NO* cool down.  And have had *NO* problems whatsover.

It's the pads and just the pads.  Whoever is charge of this forum should just post a stickie that says if you don't like the brakes and you want them fixed call Mossy Performance!  Nuff said.

My truck has has the entire brake kit replaced the First time this crap happened 8 months ago when I first bought it.  The second time the dealer turned the rotors.  This time they said they cant do anything until the parts come in to do the complete fix.  Of course my dealership has no idea when they will receive the parts to fix my truck because 30 customers at Maroone Nissan-Ft Lauderdale are on a waiting list.

I tried the corporate assistance number and naturally got someone in India named Sofia.  She promised me that a service "professional" would call me back in 48 hours.  This is the same crap she fed me 3 weeks ago.

I will be paying a personal visit to the store manager.

Nissan is a joke.  I thought VW had terrible service, but Nissan is absolutely terrible.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

So, Nissan is putting all this money into totally redesigning the rotors when it's only the pads.....makes sense.  Sounds like Mr. Brake pads should be working for Nissan.  Why the hell should I be going out and paying to replace brake pads on a new vehicle that is under warranty!!!!!!!!!!!   I have Nissan's new improved rotors on mine and so far they still feel good after 4000K miles.

Of course now I have an appt. to get the power window motor replaced since now it is only working 80% of the time...  I'm very disappointed in the quality of this vehicle.  There are rattles and squeaks that drive me nuts.  There's some whistle type sound from under the hood under light acceleration that the Nissan service dept can't seem to hear but it drives me nuts.  I've had this truck into the service dept about 6 times now over a 6 month period.  My last truck was a Toyota and I had it in once over 4 years....besides normal oil changes, etc....

ok i was too lazy to read all the posts since im in a rush but nissan has finally released a kit to "fix" the brake issue. the kit includes all new rotor and pads and i think calipers. they will replace all four after you have fixed the brakes a previous 2 times. this will be my 3rd time and with this kit should be the last time. im the 15th on the list and they only get about 1 or 2 kits a week.

also isnt it true that if after the 4th time the fix it and the problem occurs within 30k they will buy the truck back form you?. i thought there was something like that in the contract. i remember them tellin me.
