Yep.  Same rotors, pads, etc....  They only came out with the so called 'fix' a few months ago.

On the web at: http://www.nissanhelp.com/Bulletins/Titan/2005/1.htm

Service Bulletin Num : 04066c
Date of Bulletin: MAR 23, 2005 View Document

Component: BRAKES
Summary: 2004-2005 NISSAN TITAN AND ARMADA; BRAKE JUDDER FROM FRONT BRAKES
------------------------------------------------------------ ---------

My truck: 2005 Titan XE Crew Cab, Production date: 02/2005, Purchased 06/2005. It's at 2,805 miles and starting to exhibit symptoms of brake "shudder". Found this service bulletin on the net and it states for the Nissan Serviceman to replace the parts - not to "skim the rotors" or some same nonsense. If you're having this problem, take a copy of the service bulletin to the dealer where you bought it. I sure am....

Note: the bulleting is dated 3/05, but applies to 2004 AND 2005 Titans.

Interesting, huh?

Well I was hoping that I was one of the lucky ones on the Brake issue, but it caught up with me at 11,800 miles.  First the noise from the pads and then the vibration from the rotors. The dealer was quick to respond but insisted that I have the rotors turned at least two times to resolve the problem (Nissan policy) before he could order the Front Rotor Kit.  To make a long story short, they turned both the front and back rotors and gave me back the truck.  At low speed it only pulsated, at high speed it literally "shook."

It was ten times worse after turning the rotors!  Well back it went to dealer, who, being really great guys, decided the front rotors were KO'd and found me a replacement set.   I happen to have a really good dealer!

I'm sharing this to let the forum members, and possibly an informed Nissan repre., know that Nissan should stand up to this problem and not lose goodwill and value by failing to recall these defective rotors.   One by one, all of us who purchased 2004 Titans and Armadas, and most 2005's, will have this problem.   You have to ask yourself "why Nissan is willing to sacrifice its reputation on a $30K truck for what amounts to being a $300 repair?"

I hope they change their minds and wake up to reality. Meanwhile, all members who feel any vibration in the front end should go immediately to their dealer and report the problem.  They will at least be two steps ahead of the problem before the truck can't operate without new front rotors.  P.S. They only change the front rotors, what about those rear units, can't be much better, can they?????.

8/26/05

Just wanted to update everyone on the status of my brakes (2005 SE King Cab).  Went to Town Center Nissan (Atl, GA) last week, and they told me just schedule it for the appointment to turn the rotors and replace the pads.

Saturday the 20th, had a seriously close call on the interstate.

Called them Tuesday the 23rd and told them about my experience.  Dropped off the truck this morning at 9 am, had it back by 11 am.

When I dropped it off, I told them they ought to just fix it the right way.  Service manager told me he was authorized to skip the initial two repairs.  Got it back with the upgraded front rotors, new pads, the works.

These brakes are great.  Call your dealer and insist they go straight to this repair!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.  I truly lucked out on this one.

All of you crack me up. I had a 2004 Crew Cab Titan and the key word is HAD. I went through everything most of you went through, but with one better answer. I got an attorney. Now I have a brand new 2005 Titan Crew Cab LE model. My 2004 was the SE. Long story made short, Nissan loves all of you because you do nothing! I went to Nissan last year with my problem, no resolve. Went to the local BBB, waste of time. Called a local attorney and within one month and one letter, Nissan was willing to buy back my truck and yesterday I dropped it off and got a big fat check. So just keep posting your Cry"Well maybe I'm the lucky one without the brake problem" comments or "I just had my rotors turned"Cry Nissan is counting on it. They love the fact you are all willing to do nothing, that is why they never did a recall!!! All of you make me laugh. Now if anyone in California wants a good attorney, Just post a message. Nissan is still buying back the truck. I know I gave back my 2004 Crew Cab SE with 30,000 miles 08/26/2005 and purchased a new 2005 Crew Cab LE for less. Angry

Ok, Jeff, I'm sure we all appreciate your success at getting Nissan to buy back your truck as I was pretty steamed by Nissan's attitude last week. Angry Could you please be more specific as to why they agreed to buy yours back as opposed to fixing the brake problem?Confused

And yes, I would very much like to speak to your attorney in California. I have an attorney in Florida who would just love to help folks down here get what they deserve!   I was thinking a class action suit might be in line, but they normally don't fly unless there is a history of serious personal injury, etc.  Perhaps they could work together?  Please let me know.

Ok, MJ, My attorney sent Nissan a letter telling them we would sue for three times the amount of the truck and then add in court cost, etc and Nissan made a choice. Settle or go forward. They think it is better to settle with anyone who actually has an attorney willing to go forward than it is to go to court and talk about all the trucks on the road with the same problem. email me at jeff@vancampassociates.com and I will send you his office info.  Good luck

PS I never said they did not fix the problem

So, you bought another Titan which has the same rotors and pads as your other one???  The 2005 trucks came out with the same rotors and pads.
