Well I was hoping that I was one of the lucky ones on the Brake issue, but it caught up with me at 11,800 miles. First the noise from the pads and then the vibration from the rotors. The dealer was quick to respond but insisted that I have the rotors turned at least two times to resolve the problem (Nissan policy) before he could order the Front Rotor Kit. To make a long story short, they turned both the front and back rotors and gave me back the truck. At low speed it only pulsated, at high speed it literally "shook."
It was ten times worse after turning the rotors! Well back it went to dealer, who, being really great guys, decided the front rotors were KO'd and found me a replacement set. I happen to have a really good dealer!
I'm sharing this to let the forum members, and possibly an informed Nissan repre., know that Nissan should stand up to this problem and not lose goodwill and value by failing to recall these defective rotors. One by one, all of us who purchased 2004 Titans and Armadas, and most 2005's, will have this problem. You have to ask yourself "why Nissan is willing to sacrifice its reputation on a $30K truck for what amounts to being a $300 repair?"
I hope they change their minds and wake up to reality. Meanwhile, all members who feel any vibration in the front end should go immediately to their dealer and report the problem. They will at least be two steps ahead of the problem before the truck can't operate without new front rotors. P.S. They only change the front rotors, what about those rear units, can't be much better, can they?????.
