No, I bought a Titan than was made after 06/2005, which has the updated rotors and pads, according to Nissan, all Titans that were made after that date were built with the new rotors and pads. (By the way, I had the final fix on my 2004 and it worked!) I put over 10,000 miles on that truck while Nissan was talking with my attorney about when the buy back would happen. I had no problem with the overall truck, in fact I love the truck with the power and all the features; I could not find another truck that made sense for me. I told that to Nissan over and over, but they would not listen. The way I look at it, Nissan should and must do everything they can to make you and me happy customers. I don't know about you, but when drop down $30,000 for a truck I expect a better product than what they first came out with. And to release 2005 models with the same problem is just wrong. And they knew it, but did not care. You and I, and everyone in this forum knows that Nissan did a lot of testing in 2003, before releasing the truck and knew then that the rotors were wrong for the truck. Say what you want, but I know a large company like Nissan does months of testing and had to know the rotors or pads or whatever made the rotors to hot was a problem and did nothing about it. But to offer up the first round of 2005, after most of the consumers of the 2004 models were comming back with rotor problems is unthinkable. Cintititan, this is not about the overall truck for me, it is about the way Nissan treats you, me and the rest of the general public. Good luck.

I hear ya.  I didn't realize they made the corrections on some of the '05 Titans.

The 'final fix' seemed to have worked for me too.   I have around 8K miles on mine since the fix and I have a total of 21K miles on my '04 SE Crew.  Overall, I like my truck too.  The brakes have been a problem and several squeaks and rattles that drive me nuts.

I'm still trying to find somebody that has figured out what the high pitched whine/whistle noise is coming from under light acceleration.  It sounds like a turbo spooling up, or something similar to that.  I think it is probably normal for this truck, but it annoys me.  Of course, the guys at the Nissan service dept can't hear it.

I just got my truck back from its 3000 mile oil change. I told the dealer that I was getting the brake shutter, not bad, but noticable. They said they swapped out the front rotors, turned the back ones and installed new pads all around. Works great now. Im glad they replaced them on the first vist. My truck build date is 5/05. Hopefully the dealers are just replacing the rotors now, instead of having them resurfaced multiple times.

What is your build date? Is it 6/05 or after?

My '04 (born on 11-03, yes, call me impatient) just started a steering wheel shimmy when brakes are applied. 20K miles. I've been reading everyones msg's (it's been a while since I logged on). I plan on taking it in soon to have it looked at and I appreciate all of the info. To all you current owners, my first truck was a new '80 Datsun/Nissan, and I've had Nissans ever since (frontier, altima, sentra). The Titan was a huge stepping stone for Nissan, and if you ask me, they have done an outstanding job. Yes there are problems, but I think that is expected when a new product line comes out. (I bought a new '88 (I think) Chevy when the new body style came out and it was a LEMON ). Nissan dove head first into the big truck market (which took a lot of balls) and introduced a truck that totally kicks the big 3's A$$. I'm in the aircraft business, and every time a new product line comes on board, there are some lessons to be learned and I have faith in Nissan that they will overcome these. My truck developed a noise in the rear end, and Nissan replaced it. My bed liner developed several bubbles in it and Nissan replaced the entire bed. I feel like like I have always been taken care of. Yes, there are more problems with this truck than any other Nissan I have ever owned, but, I am a long time Nissan customer and I believe in them. They will take care of the problem. They know that they cannot remain in this big truck market without 100% customer satisfaction. Hang in there.

I have no problems with the truck an 04 since the brakes got the final fix.  I have had minor things like the black piece on the tailgate and power window buttons but the onlything i really dislike about the truck is the crappy Dashboard.  It is really cheap and makes a lot of noise i would love to find an after market product and replace the whole dash.

Just had the complete brake re-do on my 04 this morning.  My wife brought it in so I don't know the specifics, but they replaced the front rotors and pads, turned the rear rotors and put new pads and supposedly replaced some suspension component in the front.

Anyone know what the suspension component was?

I just got my brakes done at 20K+ miles.  All new brakes and rotors!!  Actually I was very surprised as my truck is lifted with 37" tires and I thought for sure they would claim that the rotors being warped was due to the larger tires. Thats what dealers do (I worked at several) look for any reason not to do the warr. work.

Anyway now it is sooo smooth. Like new again!

So, are the 05s still having break issues? I purchased mine April of this year (2005). It currently has 4K miles and I haven't driven the thing for about 5 months and i'm still not driving it since I got into a motorcycle accident. I got a letter from Nissan about the brake warranty being extended for 36months telling me that if i felt some juddering, stearing wheels shaking and stuff that I should take it to them for them to check.

Just wanted to know whats the word with 05 Titan owners.

Thanks.
