So I took it in a few days ago to have the once over done.

I complained of brakes shuddering when I brake hard, the drivers window not coming up, a vibration at idle, a very noisy rattle in the front end, and the gas spewing from the tank problem.

OK, 1st off they changed out my rotors, pads and a few other brake parts.  For the window thing, they said they all do that and it is a safety feature of some kind....I guess I can live with that.

For the rattle I had, they found that the entire front bumper assembly was loose as well as the hood latches.  So they had to completely remove and reinstall the front bumper assembly....NO MORE RATTLE  :D

OK, get this...for the vibration I felt at idle, they wrote "checked balance on all 4 tires, found out of balance tires and rebalanced all 4 tires.  HHAHAHA  They must have been pretty far out of balance to cause vibration at idle.

As for the tank not accepting gas problem, they said they could not duplicate it.  I knew I shouldn't have dropped it off with a 1/4 of a tank...only does it on empty.  Anyway a different, more knowledgeable service rep told me that the problem is with the tank and that they will be replacing the tanks, but that they are on super duper back order and it could be months.

I've heard numerous times that the gas problem is a vent hose needs replacing...also, It isnt really a good idea to run it down below a 1/4 tank....GL...keep on truckin

Well, when you drive a lot and fill up 2-3 times a week, filling up with 1/2 to 1/4 tank left is not an option.  That would mean I'd be at the pumps 4-5 times a week.  I'd really rather the truck just perform the way it should.

So far this has not been an issue with my 04. I put a little over 26 gals. in the other day after going 403 miles and had no problems with the filling.

oops sorry, kind of double clicked there.....on your windows not going up...that is a TSB for the switch shorting.....waiting for my part to come in...It is fairly a new bulletin, tell your dealer that the part numbers are reversed if they order a switch for a cc they'll get a king and you get the idea.

The bulletin number is 04138 title Auto power up inop. This is NOT a safety feature. You just got smoke up your %$#.

Good luck.

I got the same response about safety and went to the passenegers side and asked why on the driver needed safety windows. I was then told they were working on a fix and to be patient. I guess the TSB is out and I have not gotten a call.............

Hendo, the vibration I got from my front end at idle is when the aux fan went on and then it vibrates. The fan is loose in the bottom holder. the dealer said that was a factory mount and found nothing wrong. Yeah right!
