Hi all, I am fairly new to this fourm... My 04 titan is about a month old now and I have just over 1400 miles on it... Today I was driving and when turning the steering wheel I could really hear the steering pump making some noise as if their was no fluid in it... .Sure enough their is hardly a lick of fluid in the resivoir....   Has anyone else had this problem?  Could this be a problem that they didn't fill it up from the factory or could I have a another problem......

Any insight would be appreciated....

Mark

Check your delivery check off/vehicle inspection sheet -- the paperwork you received at the time you bought the vehicle. Is the power steering level checked off as "OK?"  If so, take back to your dealer and ask them where the fluid went. - Jim

Was probably never serviced correctly from the start. Have you noticed any leaks? If not, Your dealer or whomever setup the truck did not do it right...

I kind of doubt those vehicle check offs are ever done correctly. The way things are checked off looks like they do it in roughly 30 seconds, never looking at anything.

Well I took it to the dealer last night, the problem was a loose clamp and a deformed hose that deliver the fluid to the steering rack, thus all the fluid is now in my driveway.   The fixed the problem for now but also order a new hose and clamp to replace the defective one.... Should be in by the end of the week....

The same thing happened to my power steering. I had to take my truck in for the recall anyway. they ordered a new hose which came in yesterday. I had fluid all over my rims, D.S. and P.S., im surprised you didnt notice that on yours. I have 16000 km on her now.

Forgive me for my ignorance but when you refer to D.S and P.S what are you referring to? Also What recall did you have done?

I'm sorry, I use it for as short for Drivers side and Passenger side, I suck at typing and every short cut I can take I use, we use that DS and PS at work all the time and I just got used to it. The recall was for some rear seat belt safty thing. I also got the tailgate molding repaired cuz the top corner tab snaped off and was loose, got them to install a block heater cord that came with the truck and also the power steering leak. The people at Gord Scott Nissan were very friendly and were willing to fix whatever was wrong, they offered a loaner car but I just got them to shuttle me back to work.
