Hi there - 2nd post!  Was getting ready to buy another Ford(was at the dealership with the Ford salesman) - then saw someone drive by with a Titan.  So I checked it out.  Was in my driveway 3 hours later

So here's my deal (2 things).

Has anyone noticed when they turn the AC up to full blast, there's a REEK of what seems like puron coming in through the AC vents??? Let me correct myself - not ACTUAL puron/freon, but the ODOR.   I was driviing one day and that puron/freon odor just slammed into my truck and I about passed out.

Secondly, right underneath the front headlights(driver side), I'm not quite sure what to call that srip of plastic/body fiber (I believe you can consider it the part of the front grill) is warping, as if water had gotten underneath the paint and it's causing it to make "wave" like appearances on the paint.

And of course I have the same 2 other issues - break shudder and the tire guage lights going off, but that appears to hit everyone.

Anyone have any input?  TX!

Hi Wicked,

Welcome to our forum, and congrats on the new Titan!

On the AC, its been too cold here to run it.

On the grill piece (i know what your talking about), also have not noticed any problems yet. Take your baby to the dealer and show them, probably nothing more than a poorly painted trim strip that they can order and replace for no $$

BTW, what did Titan you get?

Can't say that I've encountered any of the puron or warping problems. BUt the damn tire pressure gauge....I won't get into that.

I got the King cab SE in Galaxy black....absolutely stunning if you ask me.  Blows the Chevy away (i use to drive chevy's), easly takes the Ford(my last truck was a Ford) in comfort and style - when I first got the truck, I noticed that the Titan easily sat higher or equal height, of the stock Ford F250's and the Chevy 2500's, which completely suprised me.

I'm taking that truck in today - but yah, that puron odor - you guys watch closely for that cuz it just about knocked me on my ass when it came though the vents.

And the tire guage......hehehe....I'm with ya'll in regards to that.  My best explanation is that obviously when you drive for awhile, your tires are going to expand and vice versa, so it's not always going to keep perfect tire pressure readings - I'm thinking they made the guage a bit too senstive and needs to be tweaked down a notch and that should solve the problem.

Update Update!

I took my truck in and talked to the rep about my problems:

I actually got the first one wrong - it wasn't an issue with the Puron, but rather the radiaotor fluid - oops - my mistake.  Anywa, I get a strong radiator fluid odor that busts through the vents - I'm taking the truck in next week to have their mechanics look at it.

As for the break shudder, the Nissan service guy informed me that that seems to be a big issue - he said he works on Titans daily because of the shudder.  Also, he said Nissan has recently provied a 3rd updated solution to the problem for mechanics and is in the process of the 4th one - Nissan is testing larger brake pads and/or disks to compensate - he said the recall is about 6 months to a year away before they can retorfit all the 2004/2005 Titans - hey, at least Nissan is aware of it and trying to fix it - all this break shuddering is costing them a fortune already.
I'll keep updating as it comes along.  Oh, the 3rd update is what you guys have already experienced - replace pads and shaving.
