hey,

 i just changed the oil in my truck for the first time and was wandering if it's normal to have to take the front skid off everytime i change it's oil?? do they make a skid that has a door or something??

Do you have the Off Road Pkg? If so, yeah it is necessary, seeing how the oil filter is behing the skid plate, but does have an access panel through the skid plate. If you don't have the OR Pkg, I don't know. Haven't heard of a door for the skid plate, but if you're crafty enough, you  could come up with something yourself.

Just corrected this issue myself.

Next time you have the plate off, drill four holes in the corners of the section right under the filter drain area. No connect the holes with a saw. File the edges and you're done.

Took me 10m with a unibit and and air saw. No sweat next time I change the oil. Might even try to find a larger filter to use next time as well.
