Some of you regular members might have seen my post some time back noting how I had over 18K miles on my '04 Titan with NO brake shudder/judder. I believe I also said that having said that, I probably have jinxed myself. Well....some of you sick-o's might be happy to know that my truck has finally succumbed to the dreaded rotor issue. So, it's off to Vaden Nissan we go (again) to have the brakes fixed. But wait...it gets better.
Over the last 4 weeks I've been hearing a familiar sound grow louder. And where might that sound be coming from? Oh - that would be from the rear end they replaced at the 12K mile mark. Looks like an opportunity for an '04 Titan to receive an '05 rear end.
BTW, Vaden Nissan and my awesome (and cute) service writer Christina tends to make all these issues more palatable. And I feel fortunate to have a cute service writer that happens to own a Titan that is having similiar issues/problems. Which makes her very sympathetic to my problems. Did I mention that she's also cute? Am I happy the truck has all these issues? NO! Am I happy with the service? ABSOLUTELY! Do I want to get rid of the truck? HELL NO!
I'm sure that some of you think I'm an idiot for sticking with this truck. And who knows...maybe you're right. However, I went through two brake resurfacings and finally new rotors on my wife's Acura TL-S. We also had the entire A/C system replaced in that car, some transmission issues, and various other nit-picky items fixed (all done under warranty). Was it a PITA? YES!! But now that all has been fixed, the car is trouble-free, a kick in the ass to drive, and the bad memories have faded. So, my optomistic self is keeping the faith that so too will these bad issues with my Titan pass. We'll see. All I know, is that I need a full size truck and there is no other Truck out there that does it for me.
I wish nothing but the best of luck for you guys going through what you are. I hope your issues are resolved to your satisfaction. For the record, I'm as dissappointed as you are.
Cheers!
Tom
