I took my truck in today for the "final fix". Nissan is replacing the front rotors and pads. They are turning the back rotors and replacing pads also. See what happens, if this does not fix the problem I will go to the next step to have the truck bought back.

While I have not yet had time to do it, I plan on pulling things apart here and retro fitting these to the Titan;

I've got 4500 miles on my 04 LE KC.  I'm wondering if every Titan is having this brake problem at some early point.  Knock on wood mine doesn't "yet".  I bought mine from a small town dealer 25 miles away and I'm worried that he'll be way lower on the list to get the perm fix rotors.  The local dealer wouldn't offer as good a deal and since I didn't buy the truck from them will probably give me a BIG run around on doing any warranty work.  Just curious if anyone new the % of trucks having these brake issues.  This is the second go round for me as I had nearly the same issue with an 03 G35 sedan.  I ended up dumping it after having it in the shop more than a dozen times in 2 years.  I can't afford to get bent over again on the Titan so I'll have to lemon law it if it get's to that point.

I've got 7500 milr=es on my '04 Crew Cab.  About to go back for the 2nd time.  1st one at 5k, did'nt last long, as it's now as bad as the 1st time.  this time, they WILL give me a loaner vehicle.......would hate to have to spend the time and money on lemon law pursuit, as I am otherwise pretty happy with the truck.  If only it got netter gas mileage.....

Im on my fourth set of brakes now, and they are starting to shutter again, the last time i talked to the dealer he said they would be getting in a new kind of brake that would fix the problem once and for all.

Just got my truck back today.  Not the permanent fix, all they did was turn the rotors and give me some new pads.  We'll see how long it lasts.

At leasr the service manager was honest with me about the bulletin and the lack of parts for the permanent fix.  He said maybe around late May-early June.

Hello fellow Titans,

I've just reached 5K on my 04 Titan Crew Cab 4x2 XE and my brakes are starting to vibrate.  My mechanic tells me its a mixture of heat and water which could be causing the rotors to warp so quickly. We've been getting pretty wet in California lately so that my have something to do with it.  I'd like to hear more about the extended warranty if any body has the time.  I bought my truck for $26K  but had a bad time at the dealer and haven't gone back since. If there service dept is anything like their sales dept, then I'm going to have my hands full.  Is there anything I should do before I go to dealership service dept?

Overall, I like my Titan.  It has bs!!!!

LATitan,

Take it in now!!!  There is a bulletin out for brake repair.  If your mechanic isn't a Nissan service employee, he may not have known about it, but still brakes shouldn't go bad after 5K unless you have your foot stuck on the pedal.  Any mechanic should know that.

My brakes were fixed (at least temporarily) for free by the dealer.  If they say it isn't covered, go to another dealer.

I picked up my truck last week with the "last fix". Updated rotors and brake pads. See how long they last. The owner said the problem is solved. I told him if I come back again, he will have a set of keys and Nissan can pick up the truck from him. I have the loan through Nissan!

Jim

Hope this set works
