Definately make sure you check out the Volcano which is still active and currently showing an awesome display when the hot lava is hitting the ocean water. Another thing is to make sure to go to Black Sand Beach.

I would also recommend checking out South Point which is the most southern tip in the whole United States, and before you leave go to Big Island Candies and get some awesome homemade Hawaiian Island Chocolate's and Candies!
