I purchased my 2004 Titan LE King with the Big Tow and Airbag packages on November 22nd. At that time i noticed a considerable vibration between 62-70 mph. The dealer said it was just flat spots in the tires and to drive it for about 300 miles and it would go away.  So I took delivery since they were giving me the deal I wanted.

After 250 miles the vibration was more severe so I took it back. THey balanced the tires and said one of the tires was so bad it could not be balanced, so they put a new tire on and said it was fixed. On the way home I noticed the vibration had gone from the steering wheel to the seats, doors and mirrors at the same speed, but far less severe. I took it back to the dealer, they sent out a tech to ride with me and he noticed the vibration and said it was not right. Upon return he called Nissan, they said to drop the drive shaft and drive it it 4x4 mode and see if it still does it. They gave me a vehicle to drive and kept mine for 3 days. THey called and said it was fixed and assured me it was perfect, and compared to the new inventory it drove excellent? They said the drive shaft was fine and they had to replace 2 more tires.(GY SRA's) Since the problem is now being handled by the dealers GM, he asked me to take it for a drive and let him know what I thought. Well, not only is vibration still there, but now it pulls to the right! The service manager told me that all Titans shake at 62-70mph and that it was due to the suspension and 8 ply tires.?????

OK folks, I have owned 2 GMC's, 1 Chevy, and 1 Ford truck in the last 6 years, and none of them shook like this. This vibration is in the seats, and console, very little in the steering wheel. It even shakes the darn mirrors. They have had me driving a Armada since last Tuesday and it doesn't shake at all, smooth as can be. Now obviously a truck will have some jitter on rough pavement, but this happens on brand new blacktop that is smooth as glass. THis is on of several problems I have had with this truck, now with 700 miles. (634) have been from gong to back and forth from the dealer an hour away).

So...is this vibration normal like the service manger is saying? They still have my truck to "try other avenues" next week. But they have absolutely no idea what this problem is. This is the second time they have given me the vehicle back saying it was perfect. I am getting really frustrated.

Please help.

Thanks in advance for your time,

Mark

Mine doesn't doesn't have the slightest vibrations at any speed. I think if my service manager had of told me something that ridiculous he'd of been vibrating too!

Sounds like you've been getting the run around since the flat spots excuse. I had a wreck in my last car and before making contact I locked up the wheels for quite a ways which caused flat spots on both front tires. The insurance company paid for new tires. Now, if flat spots supposedly just go away, I don't think they would have bought me new ones.

I've been through enough with my truck, but my dealer has been very cooperative. Especially since they've been honest in telling me that they can't figure out my problem and are going to have a Nissan engineer investigate it. If they keep giving you the run around, you should really look up the lemon law because if you take it in a total of 4 times you're qualified.

I have been test driving 4X4 LE Crew Titans since August. I am so glad you have noticed the vibration. I have to tell you that the first Titan I drove was a real smooth ride the next two as you say I had vibration. I take these vehicles on the same stretch of highway and bring them up to about 90 mph. I then check to see how much my fingers vibrate. I have been told by some of the dealers that the road we are on is bad which is not true since it is the same one I use to test all my vehicles. Then they have told me that the tires have a flat spot. But I will tell you this I have driven at least 5 Titans that did not vibrate at all. I will in 2005 be buying one and I will be sure to test the heck out of it before I purchase it. Saving my money for an 2005.

Sounds to me like your dealer is giving you the total runaround. Do not stop until your satisfied! Some dealers will totally blow you off hoping you will give up. I am just going over 1200 miles on my truck so its time to take him to speed, will let you know if there is any vibes. Seems to me you should not have any vibes like the ones you describe, you've driven plenty of trucks before so its sounds like you know what is normal and what is not. Good luck.

John
