I dunno if anyone else has this problem or maybe it isn't even a problem. When I have my key in the ingition (the trucks not turned on yet) and I hit the brake there is a clicking noise coming from the dash/steering colum. I think it might be the safety device that doesn't let you shift into drive without having your foot on the brake.

After searching for the sound, I think that it is the safety device at you are speaking oc except it will not let you take the trans. out of park unless the brake is applied
