Went to a local track last night and ran the my LE Crew Cab 4x4 with off road and big tow. The track is 4000ft above sea level so Im a second slower then I would be if I was at sea level. I ran a 16.8@82mph with a 2.5 60ft. With a little more practice in the truck I feel that I could get it down drop a tenth or two off that. It would be a 15 second truck at sea level with no problem. Im very happy with the times. FYI a new Ford Lighting only ran a 15.5 and its supercharged and altitude plays less of a factor.

It just lessens the Drag on The interstate. City driving I wouldn't advise doing. People will be able to rear-end you easier

No, putting your tailgate down doesn't improve gas mileage. I went on a road trip of about 270 miles both ways, going out with the tailgate up, and coming back with the tailgate down. I did not notice any difference in gas mileage. I also ran a 1/8 mile darg strip with the tailgate up and down and there was no difference in run times.
