Yes. I don't believe it really helps. I will switch to higher octane about every 3rd fill up just to help keep the lines clean though.

Hi! I am new in this forum.

I had Titan galaxy 04 le KC for year and 3 month had to replace by lemon law 9 (due brakes problems) Now I've got 05 smoke LE CC. I always use a super/ I have to tell you first its increase milege up to 10% - with todays fuel price it is a good thing. Second its increase a power.

Anyway it is a my personal opinion.

diff between super and regular is about 30 cents. r u really saving or paying more in the pump? since 10% increase in mpg is about 1.5 mpg additional. not worth it

I am live in mass . In my near gas station different between regular and super 20C/per gal. If your truck use more than 10 m/gal you do the math/ It is worth it? because you got better power, cleaner fuel injectors and save money! Try and you will see.

Again this is my personal opinion!

Man i bought mine in July 04 and was told i could only put high test in it.  So I did.

Then yesterday i say in the manual that i can put  87 octane in it.  I realy think that i going to switch, and drop some high test or Lucas top cylinder ludricant in every couple of refills.  I dont realy see how i could loose.

But when I purchased the truck i knew it was not the best on gas, and to tell u the truth if u can afford a truck like that, gas should be the least of your concerns,  If u cant afford to put gas in it then u should have bought a hybrid or a economy car not a full size truck.

Thats just my opinion!

Heres an article I found interesting on the subject of octane...I have read 2-3 others that stated pretty much the same ...excerpt below:

http://www.straightdope.com/columns/041008.html

.....Contrary to widespread belief, the octane rating doesn't indicate how much power the fuel delivers; all grades of gasoline contain roughly the same amount of heat energy......The majority of cars are designed to run on regular gas, and that's what the manuals tell the owners to use. Higher-performance cars often require midgrade or premium gas because their engines are designed for higher compression (higher compression = more power), and regular gas may cause knock. If your car needs high-octane gas, the manual will say so.....Using high-octane gas in a car designed for regular accomplishes little except more rapid combustion of your money......Believe what you like; the point is, don't assume "premium" means "better.".......
