Is anyone experiencing erratic gas quages readings?  When I fill my tank, within the first 30 miles the needle will drop to 7/8 or even 3/4.  The needle will stay in the position for the next 100 miles.  I have also noted on the low end of the tank, when the gauge is reading 1/8, I still have 10 gallons.  Is anyone seeing this too?  If so, does anyone know if Nissan is working to correct this?  I had the dealership look at this and the sending unit is fuctioning properly.  The service manager drove another Titan on the lot and he experienced the same on the top end of the tank, not quite as drastic as my sitiuation.  Thanks.

I am currently suffering from just this problem, i plan to mention it when i bring the truck in next tuesday to have a window regulator replaced but I am not expecting much.  Still though it would be nice to have an accurate reading on the low end.  I had heard about the Armada having problems with the fuel sender and that they were being replaced from a dealer friend so maybe it is something.  I'll let you know how I make out

Thanks for the heads up.  When I spoke with the service manager after they tested the fuel sending unit, he said that he would coordinate with Nissan to see if they are experiencing a widespread problem since the sending unit came up clean.  He is to contact me with any info.  I will pass on any information.

Later

Paul,

Have had my Titan one month, 2000 miles, and notice the very same thing in the gauge.  First tank full I thought my mileage was around 5 mpg until I filled up the tank and found I had much more than indicated.  Also today, my low fuel light came on and when I filled up, I had eight gallons left.  Have not been back to the dealer yet but will mention this when I go.  I don't expect they will offer anything.

I mentioned it to the dealer when I had my truck in and they told me that it is common and at this point they don't consider it a problem.  He said they "like to give a big reserve"  Though even I am amazed at just how big.  I guess we'll just learn to cope with it

Hope all is well.  I am still having the same problem.  The dealership said they would contact me if they heard any news from Nissan.  The service manager said tank does have a 2.5 gallon reserve which could change the math, but he agreed that there is an inconsistancy problem.

As for the gas mileage, I also thought I was getting very poor gas mileage.  That is why the gas gauge is the only feature I hate on this vehicle.  All in all, I am seeing 13 local, 15.5 mixed, and 17.8 highway.  I am going to put a tonneau cover on the truck, which should get 1 or 2 mpg.  I am also thinking about a K & N system.  I will keep you posted.

What kind of fuel economy is everyone else seeing?  I have the off-road and big tow package.

Thanks - Paul

Paul my big joke is that it doesnt matter what kind of driving I do I only get 14 mpg...you see my normal commute is a mix of city and  highway so I rarely get the chance to compare my longer trips to my shorter ones.  But yea I seem to get in the 14-15 range no matter what

Yeah, I have never put more than 20 gallons in and I'm always near Empty (below 1/8).  I had to check my manual again to confirm I have a 28 gallon tank.  First fuel mileage was 13, but that was all city.  Now I am in the 14's.

I have noticed that if I leave the key in the on or acc. position while filling the tank that I get the same "sluggish" response to read full.

When I turn the key fully off, fill the tank and start the engine it goes to full right away...

I have had the same problem with the light going on around the 20 gallon mark.  I drove the truck for three days with the gas light on but when I finally filled up, I only could put 24 gallons in, very annoying since I have a long road trip coming up.
